The Kenyan Premier League has become the most unpredictable League one can never imagine of.At the beginning of the season it was Sofapaka,Ulinzi,Gor,Mathare as pre-season favourites,it changed to Rangers,KCB,Gor Mahia and Stima and now it is Tusker,Ulinzi,Chemelil,Sofapaka and may be Rangers.Gor Mahia has to show character to and mental strength and possibly change of technical bench to have some realistic hopes of carrying the day.
Sentiments by Gor Mahia Head Coach to fans that all is not lost is uncalled for and just but a way of diverting the fans attention from the resignation call.
Mathematically all the first 8 teams in the KPL standing have got realistic chances of taking the league, but Tuskers form and depth put them at the better of the 7.High riding Chemelil could as well surprisingly take the crown with their form as well as unpredictable Sofapaka who stands to have drubbed teams with identicals 5-0 scoreline.
Gor Mahia has all that they need to win the league from Sponsorship, fan base, players huge allowances and motivation but they will be the greatest casuality if they fail to win the title, their more than a decade wait for a major trophy could be prolonged if they do not shake the technical bench.Suggestions by a section of the media that Agro Chemical's Michael Nam as a possible replacement is a good idea to save the mighty Club.
Zico is good coach but he has failed here,He has no permanent starting 11,He keeps on testing players.
KPL Clubs who do not perform have always sent their coaches packing, and this does not mean they are poor,Gideon Ochieng was sacked at Congo and now he has discovered his winning ways at City Stars,Juma Abdalla formerly of Thika and now with Congo is a happy man at the Coast, and severall others.
It is high time Gor hired a new coach, otherwise they forget the title this season.
Back to the relegation zoe battle where City Stars lead the front as Bandari and Congo follow in that order,I am seeing the Coastal teams kissing the KPL bye as the remaining 8 matches favour City Stars,City Stars have 5 of the 8 matches at their Hope Centre and 2 0f the 5 are the two friends of relegation in Bandari and Congo.
I do not see City stars losing all of their remaining matches, whereas Congo United may have scalped through Gor,little will be of them in the subsequent matches. All in all this seasons KpL will be remembered by all as one of the most unpredictable and tricky.
That is good,i bet Tusker for the title.
